Colorado rules

Titles, disposal, and the rules that matter in Colorado

Boats: titling and registration run through Colorado Parks and Wildlife. If you do not have the title, there is a release or abandoned-vessel process and we prepare it with you before pickup. Common waters: Chatfield Reservoir, Lake Pueblo, Blue Mesa Reservoir and Horsetooth Reservoir.

RVs, campers, and vehicles: untitled or abandoned units go through Colorado DMV. We tell you exactly what to sign so the unit can legally leave your property, and you get documentation.

Disposal: Front Range landfills are consolidating and fees are rising, so we sort hard for metal and donation before anything is dumped. Hazardous materials such as paint, solvents, chemicals, and asbestos go through your county's household hazardous waste program, not through us. Everything else is sorted for donation and recycling first.

Choosing a company

What to ask any junk removal company

    Where does it go?

    Ask for the name of the transfer station and whether they donate. A company that cannot answer is dumping somewhere it should not.

    Is there insurance?

    General liability and auto, with a certificate they will email you. A scratched floor or a broken railing is on them, not you.

  3. 03

    Will they sweep?

    It sounds small. It is the difference between a job and a job done.

  4. 04

    Do they take the hard stuff?

    Hot tubs, pianos, and safes need a plan and the right equipment. Ask what they bring for an item that four people cannot carry.

Can you take a boat or RV without a title in Colorado?

Usually. Boats go through Colorado Parks and Wildlife and vehicles through Colorado DMV, each with a release process for untitled or abandoned units. We prepare the paperwork with you.
